Deutsche Asset Management (Deutsche AM) has kicked off 2018 with four new digital discretionary portfolio management partners: BfV Bank für Vermögen AG, the Berlin-based fund brokerage FondsDISCOUNT.de, VdW which offers digital occupational pension solutions to member of chambers of commerce and trade, as well as Godmode-Trader.de will all go live this week on Deutsche AM’s Robo-platform.

Since July 2017 Deutsche AM has been using its digital Robo-platform WISE to provide its distribution partners with a tailored solution for automated, digital discretionary portfolio management based on a flexible fund universe. In terms of allocation, WISE draws on the expertise and strategic view of Deutsche AM and its chief investment strategist, Stefan Kreuzkamp. Investors have professional asset management geared to their concrete investment objectives – with a minimum investment sum of only 400 euro or monthly savings of 50 euro.

“Our Robo-platform enables our partners to offer digital discretionary portfolio management. As a white label this fits seamlessly, without any set-up costs, into their existing digital channels – while observing all regulatory requirements relevant to distribution”, says Kai Bald, head of digital business at Deutsche Asset Management. “The varied nature of our new partners shows the high level of demand for flexible and complete solutions”.

The four new partners

The Bank für Vermögen AG (BfV) is a subsidiary of the BCA IFA pool in Oberursel. It will offer the WISE digital discretionary portfolio management to IFAs in its group. Its investment experts are particularly well networked in the regions and have been offering their customers asset management solutions for a long time - now with the addition of solutions that customers can finalize directly online without complication. “The “BfV ETF portfolio” means our affiliated IFAs are swiftly and easily transformed into digital providers” explained Dr. Frank Ulbricht, board member of BfV.

Winning FondsDISCOUNT.de means Deutsche AM has partnered with one of the largest and fastest growing fund distributors where private investors get special rates on buying investment funds, closed-end funds on real assets as well as other capital investments. In this case, Deutsche AM’s digital discretionary portfolio management will be available under the LONI name (Lean Online Investment). “We chose the LONI as it makes new investors curious about investing in the capital markets”, said Thomas Soltau, board member of wallstreet:online capital AG / FondsDISCOUNT.de. “There are no transaction costs – this sets LONI completely apart from other Robo-advisor solutions. We are very pleased to be in a position to integrate Deutsche AM’s expertise in our platform and combine it with our service”, explained Soltau.

Gisbert Schadek, managing director of VdW Altersvorsorge GmbH, is of the same opinion. His company has had many successful years providing individual occupational pension solutions. Digital discretionary portfolio management will now be the first cornerstone of the digital pension creation “LEIF” which VdW is just setting up. “DPM allows us to offer an attractive pension option to both employees and the self-employed”, according to Schadek. An innovative cash pension value calculator and a pension app for tablets and smartphones will be launched soon.

BörseGo AG is on board as well with its portal GodmodeTrader.de. This internet portal for trading, technical analysis und investment strategies has the farthest reach in German-speaking countries and offers private and institutional investors a range of services including up-to-date news from the financial markets, real time pricing and chart analyses from professional traders. “The majority of our users are closely affiliated with the financial world and are active capital market participants. Not only do they recognize new, innovative solutions and products quickly, they actively seek them out and are willing to invest”, explained Robert Abend, board member of BörseGo AG. “We are therefore delighted to be able to offer them digital discretionary portfolio management from Deutsche AM as of now”.
