Dear Reader,

Emerging Markets have recently staged a timid come-back, yet are still far off from the highs seen in early 2021 and have significantly lagged US and global markets. China and India are the heavy tankers in this domain, making up almost 50% of the EM Index. However, they’ve recently been navigating at two very different speeds.

Worries about Chinese growth, the on-going trade war between China and the US, and geopolitical tensions over Taiwan have weighed heavily on China’s performance and valuation.

Conversely, India has become the darling of EM investors. India is emerging as a dominant player with its vibrant investment environment, strong demographics, accelerating urbanization and rising affluence. Against this background, Investors may be wondering:

  • Will China finally change course and stage its long-awaited come-back?
  • What would need to happen to trigger this and rebuild investor confidence?
  • Will India’s economic engine continue to drive at full throttle?
  • What are potential headwinds India may face in the short-term?
  • What about other looming geopolitical risks for EMs?
  • What is the outlook for the rest of EM Asia?

Please join our virtual panel discussion with experts sharing local insights and debating these topics.

We look forward to your participation.
