DWS appoints Stephen Davies to senior Infrastructure Investment role

DWS today announced the appointment of Stephen Davies as Senior Principal in its London-based Infrastructure Investments team, reporting to Hamish Mackenzie, Head of Infrastructure.

Davies' responsibilities include leading the acquisition financing and refinancing of portfolio companies as well as managing the relationships with lending banks and other financing counterparts for DWS's series of Pan-European Infrastructure Funds (PEIF).

Davies joins DWS with more than 15 years' experience as a debt advisor in the infrastructure market, with expertise across the full spectrum of funding sources including bank debt, private placements, bonds, and green and ESG-linked financing. Most recently, Stephen was an Executive Director at DC Advisory, overseeing a variety of transactions including the financing of a number of existing companies in DWS's infrastructure portfolio, including TCR Group, SAVE Group, NorthC Datacenters, Medipass Healthcare and Ermewa Group.

Prior to this, Davies was at The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) for ten years, where he held various roles including Infrastructure Financing Director, advising on and implementing a number of financing deals.

Davies' appointment follows the recent EUR 3 billion close of DWS's third Pan-European Infrastructure Fund (PEIF III) in June 2021, and marks continued growth within the DWS Infrastructure Investments team.

Hamish Mackenzie, Head of Infrastructure at DWS said: "We are pleased to welcome Stephen to DWS during this period of growth. Stephen is an experienced and established debt advisor in the infrastructure market and has strong relationships across all market participants, as well as significant product experience. Stephen will play a vital role within our Infrastructure Investments team as we continue to progress a robust pipeline with a consistent focus on the sectors that will further contribute to the long-term recovery and the sustainability of our economies."

Stephen Davies, Senior Principal, Infrastructure Investments at DWS added: "DWS has a strong position and track record in the infrastructure market and I am pleased to be part of a successful and experienced infrastructure team with a strong growth trajectory."
