- ‘A-’ for DWS in the CDP SCORE 2022
1 min to read
In 2022, DWS Group GmbH & Co KgaA participated for a third time in the company rating of CDP (former Carbon Disclosure Project). DWS improved its rating and achieved an overall score of 'A-' compared to B in the previous year, despite a fall in the financial services average from B to B-. With the new 'A-' rating DWS now is amongst 21 percent of companies that reached the so called 'Leadership' level.
Companies are assessed across four consecutive levels which represent the steps a company moves through as it progresses towards environmental stewardship. The levels are: Disclosure (D/D-), Awareness (C/C-), Management level (B/B-) and Leadership (A/A-).
The CDP rating is part of the set of Sustainability Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and the Franchise Variable Compensation (FVC) in 2022, and therefore has a great significance for DWS.
Claire Peel, CFO, commented: “This year, DWS improved its CDP rating to A-, which is a testimony to the progress we have made towards implementing environmental best practices. We are pleased to have achieved a strong score, but as always, there is room for improvement – and this is exactly where will focus on to continue advancing forwards.”
About CDP
CDP is a global environmental impact non-profit organization that aims to secure a thriving economy that works for people and planet. It runs the global environmental disclosure system that enables companies, cities, states, and regions to measure and manage their risks and opportunities on climate change, water security and deforestation.
In 2022, a record-breaking 18,700+ companies representing half of global market capitalization disclosed through CDP – 42% more than last year, and over 233% more than when the Paris Agreement was signed in 2015. This is in addition to the over 920+ states, regions and cites who disclosed, making CDP’s platform one of the richest sources of information globally on how companies and governments are driving environmental change.
