Professional career
Dr Kobler is the Chief Financial Officer and Head of the CFO Division. His responsibilities include Finance, Financial Accounting, Strategic Financial Planning, Tax, Capital and Liquidity Management, Investor Relations, Risk Management. Dr Kobler is also responsible for all Procurement Services including Third-Party Risk Management.
He joined DWS in November 2023 from Allianz Global Investors, where he was Chief Financial Officer (since 2013) and Head of the UK Branch (since 2020).
Prior to that, he held various positions at Bank Julius Baer & Co. He was Global Head of Onboarding in Zurich and was responsible for the transfer of clients and employees as part of the integration of Merrill Lynch International Wealth Management into Julius Baer. Prior to that, Dr. Markus Kobler lived in Singapore for over six years, where he served as COO Asia and Deputy CEO of Bank Julius Baer, Singapore. Prior to moving to Asia, he supported the integration of SBC Wealth Management into the Julius Baer Group in 2005 and was responsible for the Business Line Management function of Julius Baer's Asset Management division.
Before joining Julius Baer in 2003, he worked at McKinsey in Zurich.
Dr. Markus Kobler holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Basel, Switzerland.
